What is delta 8 thc?
A smoother experience.
Delta-8 has been described as an easier, more tolerable version of traditional THC, producing semi-sedative affects without much mental stimulation. According to the US National Cancer Institute, Delta-8-THC can be defined as an analogue of THC with anti-emetic, anxiolytic, appetite stimulating, analgesic, and neuro-protective properties.
Synthesized from CBGA
Delta-8 is synthesized from cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), the acidic form of CBG. Commonly called the “cannabis’ stem cell”, CBGA is responsible for producing a bunch of other cannabinoids such as THCA.
Less than 1%
Delta-8 only exists naturally in very small quantities of less than 1 percent, making the only way to experience its effects is from refined concentrates, although many consider Delta-8 valuable due to it’s low potency.
Delta-8 has a relative potency of 2:3 that of it’s Delta-9 counterpart. Delta-8 binds to the CB1 receptor like Delta-9, but it’s affinity for the receptor is different due to it’s slightly altered molecular structure.
2018 Farm Bill
The 2018 Farm Bill specifically made all derivatives, isomers, and cannabinoids in hemp legal, provided the final product has less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC. Delta-8 THC is an isomer of CBD and a derivative of hemp and CBD.
