In line with India's vision of 100% e-mobility by 2030, the Gujarat State Government has designed and implemented the first e-bus project in India. This was in response to the key challenge of providing clean, economical and smooth transport. As a pioneering project in India, it had several challenges, including lack of charging infrastructure, installation, operation and maintenance of charging stations, high installation costs, etc. Delta offered its support by providing a comprehensive charging solution including high-capacity chargers, a software solution.
Delta Electronics India, in conjunction with our CPO partner, Charge+Zone, focused on developing country-wide charging infrastructure, has facilitated Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service by providing a fleet of 11 high-capacity, i.e. 150kW DC Quick Chargers to charge e-buses supplied by Ashok Leyland. It was the first project of that time that stimulated the adoption of clean transport in India.
With Infra built by Delta, Ashok Leyland operates 40 e-buses in the city to connect key areas of the city. With the adoption of e-buses, it has made it easier for passengers to enjoy cleaner and more economical transport and has also helped to reduce carbon emissions.
