Automated Warehouse and Its Challenges
To protect AGVs/AMRs from collision requires real-time calculation of various data, including object positions, distance, and angles. With lighting differences between areas and complex human flows, how to ensure the smooth operation of workers, machines and goods is of utmost importance.
Machine Vision Helps AGVs/AMRs Avoid Obstacles and Collisions to Ensure 24/7 Operation
Automated vehicles need to "see" in the dark to prevent collisions. Delta's 3D ToF Smart Camera DMV-T adopts Time of Flight (ToF) technology to obtain depth data without the interference of ambient light. Even in spaces with highly different lighting conditions, the DMV-T ensures 60 quality images per second.
With Delta's Machine Vision Software DIAVision, the DMV-T can detect if there are obstacles in the AGV path. When obstacles are detected, the software triggers alerts based on different hazard levels, and slows or stops the AGVs/AMRs to avoid obstacles or wait for operators to clear the obstacles before resuming course.
