2023 Delta Day Seminar Roadshow Presents New Industrial Automation Products and Smart Factory Solutions to Facilitate Digital Transformation

After a three-year interval due to the pandemic, Delta’s Industrial Automation Business Group (IABG) has hosted three physical seminar roadshows in Taichung (Oct 19th to 20th), Tainan (Oct 26th and 27th), and Taoyuan (Nov 2nd to 3rd), to interact face-to-face with industry customers. The 2-day seminars encompassed two major themes. The first day explored the latest trends in equipment digitization and showcased Delta’s new automation products, while the second day introduced strategies for digital transformation and presented Delta’s integrated smart factory solutions. The seminars were applauded by the audience and saw lively exchanges and enthusiastic discussions among the attendees.

Dr. David Tsai, the deputy head of Delta’s Industrial Automation Business Group (IABG), remarked that facing the shift of global manufacturing and the rise of smart manufacturing, Delta continually strives to optimize automation products with exclusive design and develop down-to-earth industry solutions to fulfill various demands of industries, enhance added value, and lower the total cost of ownership for end users.

The theme of the first day was “Digitizing the Production Line.” With comprehensive knowledge in industrial automation plus years of field experience, Delta’s experts shared the latest trends in smart manufacturing and introduced Delta’s new products that are energy efficient, compact in size, and easy to network and integrate. Highlights included the Compact Multi-Drive MX300, which offers a modular structure that minimizes installation space and controls up to 15 axes, and the 3D ToF Smart Camera DMV-T, which adopts Time of Flight (ToF) technology and is capable of capturing 3D information with a frame rate reaching up to 60 fps.

Other new Delta automation products showcased in the seminars included the new generation Motion Controllers AX-5 Series that excels in IIoT connectivity, the High Power Multi-Axis AC Servo System ASDA-H3 with exceptional high power density, the Industrial Camera DMV-C Series that is suitable for high-speed image capturing, the Multi-Loop Modular Temperature Controller DTN Series with strong networking capability, the new generation CNC Controller NC5 Series that features multi-axis and multi-channel machining, the HMI IIoT Solution that enhances communication among machines, and the Servo Stamping Press Solution that increases machining flexibility. The seminar agendas fully demonstrated the strengths of Delta’s wide-ranging products.

The theme of the second day was “Smart Upgrades for Future Factories,” which explored topics including digital twins, smart systems, smart warehouse logistics, data acquisition, and intelligent facility monitoring and control. The seminar started with the Virtual Machine Development Platform DIATwin and Digital Twin Machine Platform RTM/iRTM, which reduce costs and development time through virtual simulation. The digital twin solutions were followed by the Flexible Feeding System Solution that combines SCARA robots and machine vision to enhance yield rate, the high-precision Smart Odd-Form Insertion Machine that lowers the reject rate in electronics assembly, and two smart systems, Servo Press and the Smart Screwdriving System, which monitor and collect data in real-time and enhance yield rate with various modes. For comprehensive solutions, the seminar presented Smart Manufacturing Solutions for the Electronics Assembly Industry DIAMOM, the Smart Factory Warehouse Logistics Solution, and the Equipment Automation Program DIAEAP. These solutions integrate hardware and software to achieve smart manufacturing by implementing machine-to-machine communication, data collection, and visualization to prepare factories for self-learning capabilities and conducting predictive maintenance.

The seminars presented by Delta IABG's experienced professionals were well received. In addition, Delta displayed products and live demos that allowed the attendees to experience and discuss the features with the speakers. Many attendees expressed keen interest in adopting Delta products and smart factory solutions in their production lines in the near future.

Delta IABG takes the initiative to update and enhance its automation products as well as industry solutions in response to the strong demand for automation and digital transformation, as it migrates with customers into smart manufacturing.
